But it can be an expensive and time consuming affair.  this puts many people off.  So we have the solution! try the “Best bit’s” tour, stay two nights in Ophir Historically this is one of Central Otagos most significant towns, where you can trek up the river under the famous Daniel O’Connel bridge to the ancient Chinese diggings. Next day we’re off, first stop “Hayes”, Oturehuas Historic engineering works. Then it’s on yer bike and off to the Poolburn  Viaduct….the undisputed “Best Bit” of the rail trail, one of the only spots to see our native falcon in it’s natural habitat, end your dayback at Ophir feet up, sipping on fine Central Otago wines.
